Licensed Runners/Walkers: Insurance Registered and licensed athletes are covered by a group personal accident insurance scheme. Details may be obtained from your club or province. Temporary licenced athletes are covered by ASA Insurance scheme, applicable for race day only. Completion of the tear off strip at the bottom of the race number is compulsory. There will be a separate table for Individual Athletes to enter. Temporary runners can join the Port Elizabeth Amateur Athletics Club "The Club where it all began"

Rules and General Information

      1. Race held under Rules of A.S.A. and E.P.A. Athletes indemnify the National, Provincial and Regional Bodies, Sponsors and Organizers against all and any actions of whatsoever nature, whatever same may be, arising out of their participation in the race.
      2. Races will start at 07h00 (10km) and 07h15 (5km) respectively on 13 May 2023.
      3. No personal seconding allowed. There will be sufficient refreshment tables along the route.
      4. All Traffic Officers and Marshals must be obeyed.
      5. The Official Cut-off time is 08:45 for both races.
      6. The Race Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entry.
      7. Pre-entries close on Thursday 11 May 2023 @ 12h00.
      8. Pre-Race registration & late entries will take place at Sunridge Village between 17h00 and 19h00 on Friday 12 May. LATE ENTRIES ON FRIDAY/SATURDAY MORNING WITH A R10 PENALTY. Arm bands be collected on Friday between 17h00 and 19h00 and Saturday between 05h30 and 06h45.
      9. The Prize giving will take place at 09h00 at Dè Keg Sunridge Village
      10. Lucky Draw prizes on attendance only.
      11. The wearing of ear phones is prohibited and will lead to disqualification

      13. 10km EVENT:
      • This is a Participation League event
      • Athletes must run in official club colours with 2023 licence numbers on the front and back of the vest.
      • Athletes who are not members of a club affiliated to A.S.A. must purchase Temporary licences for R40.
      • Runners using a temporary licence shall produce proof of age on race day to qualify for category prizes
      • Age category tags to be worn to qualify for category prizes.
      • All pavements are out of bounds.
      • Gold Medals will be awarded to the first 10 Male & Female finishers, Silver Medals to the next 200 finishers. Bronze Medals to all finishers.
      • Entrants must be at least 14 years old on the day of race to participate.
      14. 5km EVENT:
      • Bulk Entries ONLY ON FRIDAY, 12 May at Late Entries.
      • Arm bands will be issued to all 5km entrants
      • Gold Medals will be awarded to the first 10 Male & Female finishers, Silver Medals to the next 200 finishers. Bronze Medals to all finishers.
      • Children under the age of 9 to be accompanied by a parent.
      • Only 1 dog, on a lead, will be permitted per person.
      • To be eligible for 1st Family home, you must finish together.
      • Runners to stay in their finishing order till they have their medal.
